The members of the Calusa Garden Club that is located on Marco Island are meeting in small groups to work on floral design skills to prepare for the Plant and Thanksgiving Arrangement Sale that will be held from 9 AM to 3 PM on Tuesday, November 23 at the parking lot of Marco Lutheran Church.

This sale offers items that will be great for any Thanksgiving table and décor on the following Thursday. Items for sale include lush live flower arrangements for Thanksgiving. Some arrangements will be available in live pumpkin container displays and some will be in elegant fall containers.

The Center for the Arts on Marco Island recently added a new way to purchase art for those visiting the facility at 1010 Winterberry Dr., Marco Island. The art-o-mat. This machine is made from a re-purposed cigarette machine offering each person that visits a very easy and affordable way to purchase a small piece of handmade art.

The Inspiration for the invention of the art-o-mat machine came from the artist Clark Whittington while he observed a friend who fell in love with the crinkle of cellophane. When Clark’s friend heard someone opening a snack, he had an uncontrollable urge to go and have a snack as well.
