The Newcomers Club on Marco Island is an active club full of activities. There is always a planned activity going on to enjoy some time with new and old friends. There are club-wide events going on all year long. Some of the events hosted at/by the Newcomers Club include monthly luncheons with fun and interesting speakers or programs or themes, (some luncheons are planned for the holidays and some or just for the fun and practice of coming together with friends). Some of the most favorite luncheons include the welcome back of local snowbirds. Another favorite event includes participation in the Island Christmas Parade.
There are also mini-clubs within the Newcomer Club based upon smaller and more specialized interests. It is a great way to meet like-minded people who love hobbies you currently enjoy or a way to try something fun and new while meeting new people.
Some Current Activities Offered at the Newcomers Club of Marco Island Include:
Needlework, cooking, dining, Golf, BUNCO, water sports, and more. Every mini-club is welcome to all who have gone through the membership process that are interested.
The Marco Island Newcomer Club Circles of Friends
Circles of Friends are the name of the smaller groups of club inductees within the Marco Island Newcomer Club. Each Circle of Friends are made up of 30 members or less joining around the same time and staying together in their circle during the standard 5-year membership. The purpose of the Circle of Friends model is to help members foster closer and deeper friendships with activities and monthly meetings on a smaller level.
Participation in any club special events or mini-clubs is only available to those who have completed a membership application and membership approval has been permitted by the Board of Directors.
How to Join the Newcomers Club of Marco Island
Club membership is open to all Marco Island women who spend a minimum of six months on the island or on the Isles of Capri or in Goodland. Annual dues are $60 for each fiscal year term. The club’s fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31 of the next year. If you are joining the club for the first time after October 1st, club dues are only $30 for the remainder of the current fiscal year. Name tags cost $14.
There is currently a reduced dues rate of $35 for the fiscal year of April 1 2021 thru March 31 2022 regardless of when you join.
