What to do while visiting Marco Island

Marco Island has three great seafood festivals, other food, wine, and craft beer festivals and event, top-rated art festivals, nature-themed festivals and events, great tropical-themed holiday events, and even the Swamp Buggy Races. While it might be tempting to spend your entire getaway relaxing by the beach, you should plan for some time out in nature while you’re visiting.

Visit Mackle Park and Recreational Center
The park and the recreational center have so much to offer young and old. For the young, a huge jungle gym and splash sprinkler zone. Older guests can find a bocce ball, covered basketball courts, volleyball net, soccer field, ping-pong, pool table, shuffleboard, and a man-made lake with a walking trail.

Water Sports Activities
Rent kayaks, wave runners, sailboats, or paddleboards. Take a parasail ride and view South Beach and the Gulf from 300 feet high. Go on a guided catamaran tour that stops at one of the remote uninhabited islands for unbelievable shelling. It is also a terrific opportunity to view the mangroves and their ecosystem.

Rookery Bay Reserve- A 2-hour guided kayak tour through the mangrove forests. You will feel like you are in a maze surrounded by natural mangrove tunnels. Before or after your tour, stop in to see the environmental learning center, which offers interactive exhibits, a 300-gallon aquarium, and four research laboratories.

When you take a professionally guided shelling tour, you’ll learn lifelong skills on how to find the best shells on the beach. During these shelling tours, you can bring a party of up to eighteen people over three boats.

Everglade Airboat Tour From Marco Island
With their distinctive large propeller and open design, airboats are a fun and exciting way to explore the swamps and lagoons of southern Florida. These fun tours combine occasional high-speed thrills with nature viewing and education about the local ecosystem.

Take a Short Drive Up North To Naples
Naples is only a short trip across one of the two bridges connecting Marco Island to the mainland.
